O2 has launched the O2 Wireless Router, a "guaranteed Irish" mobile-broadband Wi-Fi network router, which allows multiple users to wirelessly access the internet from a number of PCs or laptops at the same time.
The O2 Wireless Router is made in Ireland by Option Wireless Ltd, and is exclusive to O2 in the Irish marketplace. It is simple to use, extremely easy to set up and, as the network is password protected, is private and secure.
Hard drives can be connected via the integrated USB port, which means users have access to a central storage system, allowing them to back up critical files.
The O2 Wireless Router also facilitates file sharing between users on the router network, so large files, such as multimedia files and MP3s, can be easily sent across the local area network (LAN).
A printer can be connected to the O2 Wireless Router so it can be conveniently located and used by all connected PCs or laptops in range. It is also compatible with multiple gaming consoles.
“O2 is delighted to launch the O2 Wireless Router, which we are confident will prove extremely popular with both businesses and consumers alike as services like Wi-Fi and mobile broadband continue to grow in popularity,” said David Hodgers, head of Products & Services, Telefónica O2 Ireland.
“We are also delighted to range a device which is manufactured in Ireland,” Hodgers added.
The O2 Wireless Router device costs €89 for customers signing up to an 18-month contract at €19.99 per month, with a 15GB usage allowance.
